I've decided to write a couple of reports for some of the shows and exhibitions I got to see and spy during my internship with Vauxhall Fashion Scout. One such show that caught my eye was Joanna Hynes'. The above quote from Jack Kerouac's 'On The Road', was conjured in my mind as the show commenced. I feel it aptly describes the girl that Joanna interprets with her clothing. Someone so awe-inspiring and madly on the wrong side of right(, or madly on the right side of wrong?) that you cant help but to follow and say 'awww!'

Fluoro-latex leggings and Edie Sedgwick hair were uniform in Joanna Hynes’ ‘Plastiscope’ collection. What meandered down the catwalk was a successful witch’s brew of art-house connotations and nostalgic eras that were shown to the eerie soundtrack of Hitchcock’s cinema.
Emblematic disco-esque sequins, heavy embellishments and foiled leathers juxtaposed the 60s silhouettes of pencil skirts and shift dresses and fused together the idea of a public icon and her unravelling personal persona. Joanna Hynes signature statement jewellery, boldly presented this season in the form of heavily jewelled and brightly coloured strange animals, further added to the contrast of the S/S 12 girl.
Footwear provided a sedate release in pastel courts and finalised the conflict of eclectic clothing and the vivid happenings of fluorescent edged make-up. It is in the conflict and release that Joanna Hynes’ instinctual assembly of ideas creates an ageless concept and collection just as noteworthy as the icons that inspired her.
